美国教育体系

美国教育体系可分为Primary School小学教育(一年级到六年级)，Secondary School中学教育(七年级到十二年级)，Post secondary School中学后教育(大专院校)。Secondary School又细分为Middle High School，Junior High School，Senior High School。

校 园 生 活

American secondary school life is rich and colorful. They pay much attention to the participation(参与) of students' activities and social life such as sports, clubs, service party, association(社团、协会), entertainment and other interest groups. By undertaking those activities, the school tries to not only teach students' social abilities

and team work skills(能力、技能), but also nurture the students' personalities as being self-independent(自主), self-respect(自尊), open-minded, positive(积极的) towards life.

考试、成绩、报告

In America, the primary school students do not have to pass an exam to get the entrance(进入权、进入许可) of the secondary school study. They can continue their study at their local secondary school straight after their graduation from the

primary school. The secondary school subjects include maths, English, science, social science, and French. Different schools operate(进行、操作) different exam systems and also have different teaching methods because of different learning subjects. In general, the American

teachers in secondary school will not give students mark based on an exam but according to the students internal assessments(评价) of the whole semester(学期), which embrace(包含、包括) course report, assignments(作业), in-class discussion, in-class test and the middle term or final exams. In addition, the compulsory education(义务教育) in America will end when students are sixteen. The students normally need to pass all compulsory courses to graduate from the school.

The students will receive the grade of each subject after each semester. The assessment for students is as follows:
A = Excellent B = Above Average
C = Average D = Below Average
F = Failure

A = 优 B = 平均以上/良 C = 一般水平/中
D = 平均以下 F = 不及格 (必修科目如果不及格，学生必须重修)
